After another busy week, it's Westvale Wednesday. Here is the second in a series of posts on the top 10 things I love about living in the Westvale neighbourhood of Waterloo:
#9 The Westvale Carnival and Fireworks
The Westvale Community Association holds a number of family events throughout the year and this is surely the most popular. The annual event is held in late June and begins Friday night and continues all day Saturday. It is held in Bolingbrooke Park behind Holy Rosary elementary school. There are entrances to the park off of Thorndale Drive, Red River Drive and Middlebury Drive. Most people walk as the weather is usually beautiful. There are many great activities for kids including carnival rides and games, a rock climbing wall, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and much more.
Saturday night at dusk brings a spectacular fireworks display to culminate the weekend activities. Volunteers from the neighbourhood canvas in May for Toonies to cover the cost of the fireworks and other events.
The Westvale Carnival and Fireworks is truly a great family event with something for everyone. If you've never attended, I encourage you to attend this year and check it out.
In the meantime, if you are curious about the current market value of your Westvale home, I'll be happy to help. If you'd like to know what is for sale in Westvale, I can provide you up-to-date info. Feel free to call or email 519-505-4488 jeff.gingerich@century21.ca.
