Top Ten Things I Love About Living In Westvale #1

Following a week away for the Century 21 International Convention, here is the final instalment of the top 10 things I love about living in Westvale.

#1 - Volunteers

It's been said "many hands make light work" and the spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in Westvale.  Many of the events and activities I've chronicled in the past weeks couldn't happen without the generous donations of time and money from the community and sponsors.  There are 2 volunteer organizations that deserve special mention.

The Westvale Community Association is responsible for 10 events happening in Westvale each year.  As a Westvale resident, you are automatically a general member of the community association which meets monthly.  As previously detailed, the Westvale Carnival and Fireworks are the biggest event of the year by far.  This past year, over 50 volunteers canvassed in Westvale in the annual Toonie Campaign and raised over $5000.  Kudos to the Westvale Community Association for your significant contributions and continuing efforts to ensure Westvale is a wonderful place to live.

The Optimist Club of Waterloo-Westvale is a local service club.  This international organization is recognized worldwide for bringing out the best in kids through their efforts in the community.  For example, the Bike Rodeo in June ensures that children know the rules of the road for cyclists and checks their bikes for safe operation.  Another popular event is the Friday night drop-in at Westvale Public School where kids can play with friends in a variety of activities for 2 hours.  Thank you Optimist Club of Westvale-Waterloo for making Westvale a better place for our children.

This concludes the top 10 things I love about living in Westvale.  I hope you've enjoyed reading the posts as much as I've enjoyed writing them.  Westvale truly is a great place to live.  Beginning in April, I'll do a monthly update on real estate activity in Westvale so that residents can keep in touch with property values and newcomers can gain insight into available housing.

As always, should you wish to know the current market value of your home, I can help.  Feel free to call or email 519-505-4488
