As we enter March, we look forward to warmer temperatures, melting snow and more daylight.  Here is another of  the top 10 things I love about living in the Westvale area of Waterloo, Ontario:

#3 Variety of Housing

In contrast to the sameness of new subdivisions like the one pictured above, Westvale has a nice variety of housing styles.  Shrinking lot sizes have forced new home builders to abandon variety and offer primarlily 2 storey homes whether detached or attached.  In Westvale, there are 2 storeys, bungalows, backsplits and even the odd sidesplit.  They come in all sizes from starter homes to luxury homes to homes for "empty nesters".  Westvale houses typically offer 2-4 plus bedrooms and range in age from approximately 27 years to brand new.  Many Westvale homes will have a garage and some will have a double garage.  The exterior of the homes are diverse with brick, aluminum, vinyl, stucco and stone finishes.
