Dunnville is a small community of 6,000 people. It is located along the Grand River on Highway #3. It was incorporated as a village in 1860, and then as a town in 1900. With Lake Erie only a few kilometers away, Dunnville has many private vacation properties. Dunnville has tennis courts, golfing facilities, lawn bowling, swimming facilities and many Bed and Breakfasts. Dunnville also has plenty of space for campers. Tuesdays and Saturdays are Farmer's Market days. Being so close to the Grand River offers sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and fishing. You can also hike through Byng Island Conservation Area, Rock Point Provincial Park, or walk along Port Maitland's new pier.
Things to do in Dunnville
Every June there is the Mudcat Festival. It is held to celebrate one of the Grand River's well known inhabitants. The fair has a parade, strongmen contests,midway, fireworks and more! In late August the Dunnville Agricultural Fair comes around with heavy, light, and miniature horse shows, sheep and goat shows, and much more.
The former World War 2 RCAF training base, offers a unique window on history with its massive hangars, and runways, now used for recreational flying and skydiving. Dunnville is also home to the newest museum, No.6 RCAF Dunnville Museum.
