My Personal Background

My family moved to Kenora when I was eight years old and quickly integrated into the community. My history of living in Kenora spans five decades and I know the area well. I have lived in Pinecrest, on Airport Road, in Lakeside and have been in Keewatin now for over twenty years. I attended Pinecrest, Evergreen and Beaver Brae Secondary School.

Having worked at Transport Canada, (Kenora Airport), TV Ontario and later at Shaw TV/CJBN TV I travelled the area, from Minaki to Ignace, and from Atikokan to Sioux Lookout and further north. At the TV stations I produced videos of concern to Kenora residents, covered events such as the Christmas Parade and The Kenora Bass International fishing tournament, and interviewed many local residents on a wide range of topics. I also appeared in front of the camera more than a few times. I loved working with the many talented people along the way, and meeting so many community involved people along the way.

I am a member of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital – Patient Advisory Committee.

I enjoy conversation, so whether you are buying, selling, or just thinking about it, let’s have one.

Selling or Buying

Selling Your Property?

Minor repairs and sprucing up can have great appeal. Imagine what your back deck would look like with a fresh coat of stain.

De-clutter! Maybe you’ve been meaning to do this for a long time. Now you have incentive to get it done. Your prospective buyer will see a larger space and a more open area is more attractive. For instance, I enjoy my bottle collection but it takes up a fair amount of space in the rec room. If I were selling my house then my treasures would go into storage until we had a new home.

Buying a Home?

Never underestimate the value of a Home Inspection. Better to have an expert’s evaluation now than be surprised later. The home inspection contains details of the physical structure and mechanical systems within the structure. Descriptions and details regarding overall condition specifically relate to the roof, attic areas, windows, doors, insulation and other visible components. Also, the home inspection provides information about the condition of mechanical aspects including electrical, plumbing and heating systems.

Ask questions! Is there a survey available? Is it zoned  and designed to code for a basement apartment? As a trained Real Estate salesperson, I can get you answers.
