Canada Day in Collingwood

Come play in Collingwood for Canada Day!

Join us in Collingwood for a weekend of celibration. Celebrate our country and community at the Collingwood Festival for Canada, July 1-3. This glowing family festival in the historic, harbourfront community of Collingwood is a traditional tribute to our glorious country.

From July 1 to 3, there are dozens of free family activities taking place throughout downtown Collingwood and the harbour area, including castle building, a street feast, a concert, fireworks and water sports.

“In Collingwood, we have such a strong link with Canada’s history, from our shipbuilding to our railway, and Canada Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the role our community has played in the development of this country,” said Collingwood Mayor Sandra Cooper. “Every year I look forward to our Canada Day celebrations, and I hope you’ll join us downtown this long weekend for the many great events we have planned.”

Start the celebrations in Downtown Collingwood at 8:00 a.m. with the famous Canada Day Pancake Breakfast, then take part in the Citizenship Reaffirmation Ceremony at noon with Collingwood’s very own Town Crier. Everyone is invited to reaffirm his or her Canadian Citizenship, receive a commemorative certificate and have a free piece of birthday cake, courtesy of Loblaw Great Food!

The fun for kids gets into full swing by 11:00 a.m. in downtown Collingwood, with free face painting and a chance to take home a fun balloon creation at Sheffer Court. On Simcoe Street, the vintage market and artisan tents compliment the free arts and crafts, activities and live performances. The Healthy Kids Imagination Station will also be there followed by Cardboardia castle-building at 3:00 p.m. and a family movie showing at the Simcoe Street Theatre at 6:00 p.m.

Enjoy the all new “Farm to Table” Street Feast as it transforms Simcoe Street into a pedestrian-only celebration of local food and art. Local chefs join local food producers and farmers to present an outstanding culinary experience for all. Two street feast sittings will be held at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Celebrate fresh, seasonal ingredients prepared by local chefs, in the company of friends and family. Get back the original roots of good food in the middle of Simcoe Street, at this outdoor family-style eating experience with long table seating and live music. Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance at www.ccfcoop.ca/street-feast/ as seating is limited. $35/$15 kids 12 and under.
