A Conversation about the #RealEstateMarket 2016

Everyone needs a home and real estate is always top of mind. Real estate in 2015 was strong in #Oakville, with 2527 detached single family homes being sold. January 2016 showed a strong start with a median price of $870000 and 81 detached single family homes sold. #RealEstateTrendsin2016 still show that 2016 will continue to be as strong, if not stronger. According to MoneySense magazine's recent article on the Canadian Real Estate Market and the outlook for 2016, lower oil prices and devalued loonie are taking a toll on household budgets; however this is part of a world-wide rebalancing of an economical equation.  One of the biggest obstacles we face in Canada is the world-wide perception that our real estate market is a bubble waiting to burst. CIBC Chief Economist Benjamin Tal, at a recent TREB event, said that the fundamentals don't support this point of view.

This brings me to my point, real estate is always a topic of conversation, whether local or overseas. With a lot of front page real estate news articles and online recently, it's no wonder my Century 21 lapel pin always catches someone's eye. I like to meet new people and have conversations daily, but, I especially like to have an honest conversation with someone regarding real estate, whether you are familiar with  purchasing #realestate in Ontario or planning a #movefromoverseas.  What is happening in the market is the question asked because this is what people read online and in the papers. The question actually being asked is 'what is happening specifically in my neighbourhood and how does it affect value of my home? As a realtor, part of my dedication to my profession means I am online daily, keeping an eye on what the experts are saying regarding the Canadian Market and the changes being put in place that may affect my clients directly.

That being said, where my true passion lies is in what I present at a personal level, from my ethics and honesty to being able to educate my clients on the market in general.  So, if you know of someone who’d like to have a honest conversation about real estate and are looking for a realtor who shines at providing stellar customer service, please feel free to pass their name on to me. You’ll rest assured they will be well taken care of.
