As Sellers, we are often wondering... what can we do to spice up our front porch? Our side porch? Our curb appeal. First impressions are everything, and you and I both know it! As we were all buyers at one time, on the search for the perfect home, we often found ourselves doing drive-by's before even booking a showing or searching for the property online. We let these first impressions determine whether we step foot in the door or not.
We maybe have missed some of the great homes that could have caught our eye because the curb appeal was just not enough to get us in the door. Unfortunately, this is the way that some buyers still do it. They will judge a book by its cover which can be detrimental to your home sale.
As sellers who were once buyers, we need to step up the game and make sure the first impressions are great. What better way to do this than use a holiday to mask some of the flaws your curb appeal may have. Here are a couple of my favourites:
1. Add a wreath or a door display to hide the door imperfections and draw attention.
2. Plant seasonal blooms and display on each side of the door - the bigger and brighter the better!
3. Bundles of decorations can go in any space - from a cluster of planters, with pumpkins and gourds on bales of hay, display them anywhere around the porch, and leave room for a path to the door.
This list goes on, so don't hesitate to jog your Fall inspiration by viewing the link above. It is sure to bring you simple and inexpensive ideas you may not have thought of, and probably bring the buyers to your door this Fall!
Have a great day!
