Kitchener

 Ontario

With a population of around 250,000, Kitchener is roughly 100 km west of Toronto and is one of three cities that make up the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. Fun fact: the city was first called Berlin and was founded in 1807 later incorporated as a town in 1833. It wasn’t until 1913 that it was incorporated as a city. Three years later, a referendum changed the name from Berlin to Kitchener.

Today, Kitchener is home to four municipal business parks. These include the Bridgeport Business Park, Huron Business Park, Lancaster Corporate Centre, and the Grand River West Business Park. Kitchener is home to Google's largest R&D office in Canada, Amazon’s DTZ7, and has a large office presence with Accounting and Tax company Deloitte. Other companies in the city include D2L and Vidyard, both software companies, and Waterloo Brewing Company, the largest Canadian-owned brewery in Ontario.
