I thought a little bit about the headline of this blog, and I kind of like "From Real Estate to Life". I think it describes how a real estate transaction can be the start or end of a particular journey.
I absolutely love real estate and I really enjoy helping people take the next step in their life - whether it's buying their first home, moving up to a larger home to accommodate a growing family, or downsizing after the kids have grown. Sometimes, a real estate transaction happens for not so nice reasons i.e. divorce or death. But the not so nice stuff is part of life too.
I've been fortunate enough to visit some of my first-time buyer clients over the last little while, and it's really nice to see the changes that life brings. One young family I visited have really personalized their home by putting in new flooring, finishing the basement, etc. They've taken a rough-cut stone and turned it into a polished diamond that reflects their lives. And, another set of clients have renovated most of the home they bought last year, and at the same time grew their family with a new baby! It's the positive growth and change that I love seeing, and it's a privilege to have been there at the start of the process.
The real estate market has it's ups and downs, and life is like that too. Some of my clients have sold their home because of divorce and while it's not a fun situation during the sale, it's nice to bring a sense of relief and a bit of closure as people move forward.
Life is always changing, and people's real estate needs vary at different stages in life too. So, I guess the title of this blog could have been "From Real Estate to Life to Real Estate to Life..." etc, etc, etc.
