Personal Background

I am a life long resident of Chatham. After high school, I received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor. I have been self-employed in Chatham since 1972 when I opened J.T Kovacs & Associates Insurance Brokers. In 1976 I started my own real estate company, Maple City Realty Ltd. and joined the CENTURY 21 franchise in 1996.  I was the 2008 and 2009 President of the Chatham-Kent Real Estate Board, having also served as President in 1981-1982, and 1993-1994. Currently in 2010, I am still serving the Board as Past President.
