Back To School Sales And The Real Estate Market !

The end of August is always a different time of year ! One week you are sweltering in the heat, enjoying the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade in Downtown Charlottetown for Old Home Week and then after it is all are thinking about long sleeve shirts, jeans, backpacks and the upcoming fall.

Here on PEI most people always say "Well after Old Home Week..summer's over !" It is not the mystical power of the midway and its group of carnival workers and is the schedule of mid to late August.

In the PEI residential real estate market we find that once the change occurs...people really get down to business of finding their next home. The new school year means changes in our kids lives and that can be a catalyst for our housing situations. Myself, my oldest daughter is starting kindergarten this fall and it has made me look at things much more differently..such as our own housing situation, what vehicle I should be getting when my lease is up in a few months, family vacation next year is amazing how much things change within a short time frame with a young family.

This year there is a shortage of residential listings compared to last year which causes a bit of a problem if you are looking but if you are selling it is good for does not neccessarily mean prices will increase by a huge amount but if it is priced accordingly to the market you may experience a quicker sale with stronger terms in offers to purchase.

If you are thinking of moving along with all the changes that occur when the seasons any of our sales representatives and we will do our best to assist you in this transition.
