I received an email the other day from Joey Kitson from the group Rawlins Cross. I have known Joey for many years. We actually played football against each other when I was about 12...(there is no need to discuss that any further).
Joey has been involved in the music scene in PEI for many years with such bands as Rock Island Blues Band, The Brewski Brothers, Poppa Shine, Big City and many more groups while also performing solo and in shows at the Confederation Centre.
I have seen him around town many times and actually sold him and his family their home where they live in PEI.
Joey has also been a member of the very popular band Rawlins Cross for many years who have just released a new album (CD, cassette, itunes. What are we supposed to call it now?). He sent the following message out and I asked him if I could share it which he agreed.
I’m contacting friends and family to share some new music from Rawlins Cross (a three song download from the band’s new CD, Heart Head Hands).
The band will be on tour through the Atlantic region starting with a show at the Cohn in Halifax on Thursday Jan 13, 2011 and in Charlottetown on Tuesday Jan 18,2011 at the Confederation Centre.
All the best,
If you get a chance to see them live, I highly recommend it. I have seen them perfom many times and not only are they a great party band but they are very fine musicians.
Here is a video of one of their great songs "Reel and Roll"
