REBATES for Energy-Efficient Home Improvements
Now that Winter's well underway, you may be noticing areas in your home that could use a little upgrading for energy-efficiency. In December, the Ontario government announced that the Green Ontario Fund will offer thousands of dollars in rebates for homeowners who opt for energy-efficient renovations, including windows and insulation.
THE NEW REBATES THAT WERE ANNOUNCED:
- up to $5,000 to replace windows that meet specific requirements
- up to $7,200 off new insulation and a $100 rebate for air sealing
- up to $20,000 for Energy Star certified ground source heat pumps, or up to $4,500 to repair existing heat pumps
- up to $5,800 off Energy Star certified air source heat pumps or pumps that meet program requirements
To take advantage of the rebates, homeowners will have to work with a contractor who is qualified under the program and listed at GreenON.ca
"We have worked with John in respect of two purchases. We are both fairly knowledgable purchasers, not easily impressed, and hence not easy sales. He was very patient with that, and as we switched from purchasing a recreational property to a future home as we shifted our purchase goals. Most importantly he is utterly honest; I would be prepared to give him my wallet or keys or car for a week, and not think twice about it. Born and raised in the Collingwood and Grey County area, there is very little he does not know about local real estate.
Jon & Dorothy
"This was our first house sale. Dealing with John was a great experience. He was able to calm nerves, keep us informed and made sure that we were fully informed on what was going on. Very friendly and great to deal with. He was able to make sure that we did not get ahead of ourselves and effectively kept us on the right track and grounded. He was able to appreciate our enthusiasm and emotions but was able to make sure that they did not dictate our course, rather that we calmed down and used our heads. Would definitely deal with John again and will highly recommend him to friends and family.
John was always available and consistently made visits to our house and with us for showings after what I would consider "normal" business hours and on weekends. John was always there when needed."
Dear Prospective Buyer,
A word about John Seymour, Real Estate Agent . . .I met John Seymour about a year before I bought my house in Collingwood. I had called his number to see a listing I saw on line.
We met at the listed house, however, it just wasn’t right for me at the time. John and I were a team from the beginning. John exuded patience and understanding while, over a number of months, I searched and visited several thoughtfully selected properties that best fit my criteria. John also appreciated and encouraged my due diligence and conviction to find a house that could be my home. Fourteen months after we first met at the original listing, I bought a house I am indeed happy in. John was the facilitator.
John’s motto . . . “I just want you to be happy with what you buy.”
He is right, because then everybody wins!!
