What a welcome addition to the Village of Carp! Alice's Village Cafe is a terrific place to meet friends, neighbours and colleagues while enjoying wonderful coffee, light snacks or full meals. Alice's opened this summer. It has been a busy spot ever since and I am not alone in singing its praises!
I have enjoyed the coffee, homemade soups and the scones! I am really tempted by the "Big Nasty", a delicious looking sticky bun, but so far have fought off temptation! The coffee is also great - both in house and to take out. My sister raves about the lemon and chocolate tarts.
It is nice to see new development in the Village mixing so well with the old character. Alice's offers a new convenience and pleasure but also a chance to see old friends and family in a warm village atmosphere.
Alice's is located in a building at 3773 Carp Road, across from the Anglican Church and the Carp Fair grounds. The building is a new construction built by Argue Construction Ltd. The architecture is very pleasing. As weather permits, the outside dining patio and gazebo are wonderful as well. The building is part of the "Retire in Carp" community.
