Hike for Hospice

Join Hospice Care Ottawa on Sunday, May 4th for an exciting day that includes a 5km Hike, music, children’s activities, prizes and more! The hike locations will include: Old Ottawa South from 9am-12pm and Kanata from 12pm-3pm. Together we will be raising much needed funds and awareness for hospice palliative care in our community! For more information and to register please  www.hospicecareottawa.com.

 

 May Court Hospice:  9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. 


The Hike for Hospice at the May Court Hospice will be held on Sunday May 4, 2014 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at 114 Cameron Avenue in Ottawa.

Register to walk or run the 5km route through the lovely streets of Old Ottawa South.  The festivities begin with the ribbon cutting with Mayor Watson at 9:30 a.m. on the beautiful grounds of the May Court Hospice. 

Following the Hike, participants are invited to  for a delicious lunch generously catered by The Red Apron and ice cream from Tim Hortons.  Children’s activities and prizes will add to the fun.  Help raise funds by buying a balloon pop and by perusing the many silent auction items that have been donated by local area business.  Some of the items include certificates for popular restaurants, hand-crafted gifts and tickets to events. Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice: 12:00-3:00 p.m.

The Hike for Hospice at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice will held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. at 110 McCurdy Drive. in Kanata. This year we will be honouring the memory of Craig Gordon and Marsha McConnery.  You are invited to make a pledge in memory of Craig and Marsha.

The exciting afternoon includes a 5 km Hike, live music, children’s activities, prizes and more!  The Glen Scottish Restaurant & Pub will be onsite with their mobile food truck – registered participants will receive a $5 off coupon towards the purchase of their lunch and there will be no charge for children accompanying adult participants. The Rogers Cruiser will provide coffee and Timbits to participants.  There will also be a bake sale and a used book sale where you will be able to buy some goodies and have an opportunity to see the brand new Hospice Home.  This is sure to be a day we’ve all be waiting for! Everyone is encouraged to register as an individual, form a team or join an existing team.
