In the Fall of 2015, the City of Ottawa provided approval to the plan of subdivision to this property located on the northeast corner of Hazeldean Road and Kittiwake Drive.
The plan of subdivision on a 0.947 hectare parcel of land for the development of 31 street townhouse dwelling units.
The draft plan of subdivision provides for the following:
- 6 blocks for street townhouse dwellings, each one varying in size from 3 to 6 dwelling units;
- 1 street; and
- 1 block for a pathway
The road access will be provided through Bulat Court, a cul-de-sac accessing directly onto Kittiwake Drive that will connect the subdivision to Hazeldean Road. Also, the subdivision will be linked to the existing plan of subdivision immediately to the east via a pedestrian pathway block that will connect Bulat Court to Abaca Way.
The lands are also subject to a Site Plan Control Application for the purpose of reviewing the location, design, servicing and other issues associated with the individual street townhouse units. The Site Plan Control application is being reviewed concurrently with the Plan of Subdivision Application.
On December 7, 2007 City Council approved the application to rezone the property at 6371 Hazeldean Road from Highway Commercial (CH) to Residential Type 4 Zone (R4) for the development of 31 townhomes along a private road. This property is located on the northeast corner of Hazeldean Road and Kittiwake Drive. It is proposed that Kittiwake Drive adjacent to Smoketree Crescent will provide access to the development, and will terminate in a cul-de-sac at the east end of the site.
