Welcome to Stittsville

Even though Stittsville is growing, the friendly community and old quiet neighborhoods still remain. If it's new modern homes you desire, there are plenty of new builds to go around.

I want to let you in on my favorite places that give Stittsville its charm and make you feel at home.

Saturdays in Stittsville should start out with friends, enjoying breakfast at the Main Street Cafe. Friendly, quick service, hot coffee and fantastic breakfast specials, the weekend wouldn't be the same without a trip to the diner first thing in the morning, after church, or noon for those of us who like to sleep in a little. At the corner of Main St and Carleton Cathcart, try it, you won't be disappointed!

After breakfast, enjoy a walk on the Trans Canada Trail. This former railway runs 18,078km across Canada. We are lucky to have a piece of it at our front door. If its not a nice day out for a walk, you can get some exercise inside at the newer Goulbourne Rec Complex http://www.ottawa.ca/residents/parks_recreation/facilities/rec_centres/goulbourn/index_en.html which offers fitness from swimming, skating, and hockey, to structured fitness classes, a gym and meeting rooms. Located on Shea Road off of Abbott St. Also, try Blue Bamboo Yoga Studio, in Jackson Trails http://www.bluebambooyoga.com/.

Stittsville offers lots of shopping, with more on the way as they expand Hazeldean Road, to make room for Home Sense, Winners, Michaels and much more.

Relax at Mahogany Salon and Spa http://www.mahoganysalonandspa.com . Mahogany offers a trendy, relaxing atmosphere, and the best pedicures!

For some family time, take the kids to the Library or to one of Stittsvilles many parks.

At night, catch a local baseball game at the Grove (located behind the arena on Main St). Don't be surprised if you see the men disappear after a game, you know they're celebrating their win over wings and beer at the Main Street Pub. Famous for their soup and sandwich deal, it is the Cheers of Stittsville, where everyone really does know your name.

For more information on the Stittsville Community, visit www.stittsvilleva.com. There, you will find a list of schools, library information, bank locations etc.

I hope you enjoy your time in Stittsville, it's a fantastic place to live!
