The West Carleton Diners club has received a welcome donation to their program! A group of West Carleton real estate agents has donated $700 to the seniors' club.
The Diners Club is organized by the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre. www.wocrc.ca Twice a month they host a nutritional lunch, entertainment, and/or educational program for seniors living in our community. For example, on January 11th the lunch will be held at the Kinburn Community Centre with music provided by Helen MacDonald. The lunches are a great way for seniors to socialize, learn and have some fun. Transportation to the lunches can be arranged on request.
The West Carleton Breakfast Club it a group of collaborating Real Esate Agents who live and work in West Carleton. They represent various brokerages. They meet once a month to tour their listings, provide feedback and share ideas all in the pursuit of providing quality service to their clients. The group has been meeting for over 20 years and although members have changed over time the mandate has remained. The members wanted to show their appreciation to the great community we live in and so decided to donate to the Diners Club. Their donation will help to provide entertainment for the lunches. At the December meeting, Colleen Caldwell was presented with a cheque for $700 by the group. She was overwhelmed by the generosity and said the funds were very welcome and will be appreciated by the club.
