Welcome to Copeland Park!
With much to offer in the way of recreation centres, schools and churches, Copeland Park is one of Ottawa’s most family friendly residential neighbourhoods. Catering to families young and old, Copeland park consists of primarily single-detached houses, as well as some semi-detached homes, condominium apartments and blocks of town housing. The Copeland Park Community Alliance has established its boundaries as Agincourt Road, Baseline Road, Clyde Avenue and the Western Corridor Bicycle Path. Major housing development occurred between 1957 and 1962, under A.B. Taylor Construction. The Condominium apartment complexes were constructed at the corner of Baseline and Clyde in the mid 70’s by Aselford-Martin Construction.
Recreation and Facilities
Residents of Copeland Park have easy access to park land, tennis courts, bike routes (with over 11 km of paved paths) and numerous outdoor recreation facilities. There is a strong sense of community backed by the Copeland Park Community Alliance, which sits regularly and whose meeting minutes are available to community members online to increase competence.
There are a number of area schools: Agincourt Public School, J.H. Putman Middle School, Charlotte-Lemieux Elementary School, Copeland Park Kindergarten and Playtime Daycare Center as well as Nepean High School and Algonquin College (both just outside the neighbourhood). Not far from the neighbourhood and offering a surplus of resources is the Dovercourt Recreation Center. Those looking to participate in regular mass may attend any of the following churches in the area: Trinity United Church, St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, or St. John the Apsotle Church.
Transportation
OC Transpo bus routes 55, 151 and 156 run through the neighbourhood, providing handy public transportation access to any commuters in the area. Copeland Park is also situated close to the Maitland Avenue 417 Highway exit for driver’s convenience.
