Notre-Dame-du-Laus Real Estate Listings and Information
Located about 65 km from Mont-Laurier and 100 km from Gatineau, the municipality of Notre-Dame-du-Laus covers a very large area of about 866 sq.km. The municipality is characterized by hilly forests with a great number of lakes, rivers, and creeks. The eastern portion of its territory is part of the Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve (www.sepaq.com). Consequently, the local economy is dependent on forestry as well as on the influx of tourists, fishermen and hunters.
Nature is omnipresent. Here you will find many lakes such as Lac de l’Aigle, Bigelow, du Campion, Corbeau, des Iroquois, O’Neil, des Pins, du Poisson-Blanc, des Sables et Serpent. Several streams as well as the Lièvre River traverse the municipality. As one would expect, with so many lakes within its boundaries, this is cottage country for Ottawa/Gatineau residents as well as residents of Montreal.
Services include restaurants, Bed & Breakfasts, a pharmacy, a sports and cultural recreational complex, health services, campgrounds and more. Hydro-Quebec also has a large power dam on the Lièvre River.
