As much as we'd like to sell every listing in record time, or at least in less time than the average days on market, that sometimes just doesn't happen. It's never for a lack of determination, but there many factors beyond our control and the control of our sellers that affect the rate in which we can sell certain homes. For instance, price, location, time of year, type or condition of property, etc., all of these things affect the number of days a property is on the market before it sells.
This client was a joy to work with, and we knew she never gave up on us and she knew we never gave up until her house was sold. Prior to being listed by The Red Carpet Crew, this property had been on the market on five different occasions with five different agents, and only one of them re-listed the property after the listing expired.
When we put our sign up, we made it clear that we weren't just looking for another listing, but we fully intended to get this house sold once and for all. This house had amazing curb appeal in a charming neighbourhood, but a very unique layout that didn't work for the majority of buyers who viewed it. We showed it, we open housed it, we marketed it, we advertised it, we answered phone calls and emails and we kept on, and kept on, and never gave up until the place was sold.
Because of our sticktoitiveness, we finally got the job done! We aren’t bragging about the fact that it was over a year from the day we listed until the day we closed, but there’s an awful lot to be said for not giving up. In the meantime, we found our client an amazing condo that fit her perfectly. At first, she refused to go look at it for whatever reason, but we persisted because we had previewed it and it had her name written all over it and, boy, was she glad for our guidance.
