Good news! I have a new assistant. Her name is Lisa DiRe, and this is her first week working with me.
I met Lisa and her husband through one of my listings a few months ago. It was already sold when they called me, but that's okay because it still gave us a chance to chat and get to know one another. So, over the course of several weeks, we sent regular emails (as they were living out of town and preparing to sell their house and move to Waterloo). We kept on until we found them a place that is just right for their family. Now they are happily settled in, and they just happen to be a few minutes away from my new office.
Shortly after their move, Lisa asked if I know of anyone who is hiring. Being the networker that I am, I almost always know someone who's hiring. But this time I wondered if the right spot for Lisa was in my office, as my other assistant Kim (who is amazing, by the way), had just told me that the position at her other place of employment was expanding, and we did not want her overextend herself.
The number of hours Lisa wanted to work, the type of schedule and her skills are a perfect match for the projects I had in mind. So, here we are. There's many plans in the making of what we will be able to accomplish together the remainder of this year and going forward next year and hopefully beyond.
Welcome aboard, Lisa!
