Personal Interaction

I don't know about you, but I know no strangers.  I have connections all over the world, through my many personal and professional associations, and I regularly stay in touch with everyone.  I use email, the phone, a coffee date, whatever.  I often say how small the world is when people are not afraid to reach out to other people because then we can learn how much we have in common.  Several conversations I had just this week confirmed the fact that this is a small world.  And I was reminded again of the importance of personal interaction.  I believe one of our greatest purposes in life is to interact with others.  And, don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with online social networking, but technology will never be able to replace the significance of a face-to-face encounter, a word of encouragement or a friendly smile.  Hope the next face you see is a happy one, and the chances of that happening will be greater if you smile first.  :)
