As a Realtor, I often get asked if I think it's a good decision to buy "here" or "there", usually places other than in our region, and mostly in the States. Maybe it's because they know I've lived in many regions south of the Canadian border, or perhaps it's because I'm seen as an expert in my own market. But, honestly, I wouldn't even represent someone buying or selling in Toronto, not because I don't want to help them but because my best way of helping them is to refer them to someone who is an expert in the area where they're looking.
I cannot possibly know every market in North America, so I'll stick to Waterloo region and stay on top of the changes and trends affecting this market. In the meantime, if you or anyone you know is looking to purchase a principal home, vacation home or retirement home outside of this region and you want to be referred to an expert that can help you, give me a call. I have an excellent network with Century 21, the largest real estate brand in the world.
In the meantime, if you'd like to know how things are in the States, I just received this CNN report this morning through LinkedIn. Despite another rocky year for the housing market experts say that things may stabilize in 2012, making it a prime time to buy.
