What Kind of Home Do You Desire?

There are more things to consider when buying a home than the number of bedrooms and the budget.  Really, one of the most important things to ask yourself is this:  "What kind of a lifestyle am I going for?"

A house is a roof over your heard, but a home is something that you make for yourself and the first step should be thinking about what kind of home that you want.

Some people like the "idea" of having a garden, but doing the work associated with it isn't their cup of tea.  Others can't imagine the idea of paying hefty monthly fees at a condo or giving up the freedom of sitting in their own back yard with friends and family on a warm summer evening.  A good compromise may be a freehold townhouse that is lower maintenance than a larger detached home, but without the fees. That doesn't mean, however, that you shouldn't consider all of the costs associated with maintaining a freehold property, whether it's detached, semi-detached or a townhouse.

Buyers don't need to know exactly what they want before they start searching for a home, but they should understand the pros and cons of different types of property ownership, and they should take a little time to analyze the type of lifestyle they are going for.

Sometimes having a sounding board to sort through some of your thoughts, questions and concerns is a good idea before you start your home search.  I'm happy to set up a time to meet you for coffee and help you figure a few things out.

Of course, I've sold a lot of different types of properties, but it may also help to know that I have personally owned and lived in single detached homes, as well as a freehold townhouse and an apartment-style condo so I can speak from experience what it's like to live in a number of different types of properties.  And I've also lived in newer builds as well as Century homes.  And my partner, Roger, has lived on more than one farm property, and has done numerous renovations.  So, between the two us, we have a lot of personal and professional experience in real estate.

Let The Red Carpet Crew help you in your home search, and not just help put a roof over your head, but help you find a place that feels like Home!!
