I was so pleased to read the article in the Star Phoenix yesterday about Circle Drive South's completion in one year. How exciting is that for all commuters in the city but especially Saskatoon real estage agents and delivery people? Not as exciting for Saskatoon cab drivers though!
The progress this summer has been great and the project is actually ahead of schedule with the wonderful weather we have had this summer and fall.
Thankfully it sounds like the 11th Street overpass should be open by early November which will also help alleviate traffic woes that we are currently facing. The new Circle Drive will shift traffic patterns and especially big trucks that right now have to go down Idylwyld Drive through the city centre.
The project is costing $300-million which is the largest construction venture in our history and it is currently keeping 260 project workers busy daily and another 30-40 subcontractors involved.
With the huge growth of our city we are also seeing increases in taxes of course but these roads are a necessity and imperative to our growth and development as one of the fastest growing communities in the country. As a REALTOR in Saskatoon I understand how much our city is growing in terms of people coming from other places in Canada and the world. You can see the change in our city wherever you look with the opening of new specialty shops, restaurants, specialty grocery stores, and just the overall view of our multicultural city.
If you are thinking about getting started in the Saskatoon real estate market give me a call and I would love to show you the pros of buying a house or condo in Saskatoon as opposed to renting.
