Here We Grow Again!

Welcome to Saskatchewan! There was a recent article in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix about our population growing once again and that we have grown more than expected.

The province of Saskatchewan now has a record number of residents at 1,049,701 which is an increase of 4100 people from July. Our 1.53% growth rate in 2010 leads the provinces and just shows that our momentum has not stopped.

Statistics Canada attributed more than 60% of our growth to the influx of immigrants as the interprovincial migration was very low. I have noticed a more diverse population in Saskatoon even in the past year. You can see more ethnic based shops opening up and more ethnic based food options. Yum!

Overall Canada's population increased 129, 300 people since July and there is an estimate that 84, 200 immigrants have arrived during the third quarter, up about 8800 during the same time last year. The growth doesn't come without some problems, especially the welfare of some of the new immigrants who will take jobs that may not be safe. I recently read an eye opening article about hardships faced by one man in particular but I am sure there are many stories like his.

As a Saskatoon real estate agent I have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world who are looking to buy a house for sale in Saskatoon and begin their new lives here. It is always a pleasure to meet people who have moved here and have made a life for themselves

If you are looking to get into the Saskatoon real estate market or if you would like some more information about how to obtain a mortgage in Saskatoon I would love to meet with you and help you reach your dreams.
