Sask Companies Benefitting from Booming Economy-Focus on Tron Power Inc.

As one of almost 600 Saskatoon REALTORS ® I am always amazed at how many companies there are in Saskatoon that I do not know about. I drive around commercial and industrial areas and take in all of the different signs and realize that I am very sheltered as to what is happening in our industrial city-not for lack of wanting to know but for the fact that this area is so large.

The booming economy in Saskatoon means that Saskatoon is a great place to be for industrial construction businesses. With a constant growth in economy and population there are many businesses in Saskatoon that are taking advantage of all of the new consumers and contracts becoming available to them.

Tron Power in Saskatoon is one of the companies taking advantage of this influx and they are taking the opportunity to expand their own company. They can offer design plus build and turnover packages from small mechanical builds to civil and electrical. They do a lot in the piping and structural steel realms.

Tron Power Inc was established by the English River First Nation in 1997. They also work with SREDA, the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority. SREDA has a large focus on mining as Saskatchewan is the world's largest potash producers. Saskatoon has some of the global leaders in potash production such as PotashCorp, AREVA, Mosaic and BHP Billiton which recently moved its world headquarters to Saskatoon. BHP Billiton is undertaking significant mine developments and expansions totalling billions of dollars.

Tron Power has been specializing in the mining industry for more than 25 years, although previously under different ownership. They provide project execution from mine infrastructure development to upgrades and ongoing maintenance. One thing that may not be well known about Tron Power is that they are a 100% Aboriginal owned company ranked in the top 10 of its kind in Canada. One of their mandates is to hire band members or anybody of First Nations descent. They are always striving to ensure that their Saskatoon-based company is providing their best efforts to reflect back home.

With the last couple of years growth in the industrial construction industry in Saskatoon, Tron Power Inc in Saskatoon has been able to expand from its primary focus on uranium mining to potash mining as well. They have 6 projects on the go including Key Lake, Cigar Lake, McArthur River, McClean Lake, Rabbit Lake and a K+S Legacy Project.
