Last-minute food-bank donations are pouring in, though the annual lsprin food drive is still about 1,000 kg below last year's total. Last year a this time, people had donated 28,998 kg of food. This year, that number is down to 27,925 kg.
"We're still catching up, but it's been a good weekend." said Jane Roy, the food banks executive director. "the last couple of days have been great" she said. People can still drop off their donations at grocery stores and fire halls all week to have the fod included in the spring food drive total.
The food bank, which serves close to 4,000 people, will be open Monday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm for food donations and volunteers.
