Many of today's Sales Representatives have known no other real estate market than one in which house prices keep rising, and buyers bid against each other to purchase those houses. A different market, in which sellers want to continue to price high, but buyers want to bid low, will present challenges for these sales representatives.
Many Sales representatives have become complacent about the selling process. They may not know how to compete in a market where buyers are reluctant to make an offer," in case the price comes down". They may not know how to persuade a seller to list a house at an attractive, competitive price. They may not be able to negotiate to a close between parties with such divergent financial goals.
