Business owners and not-for-profit groups have until Jan. 20 to apply for federal funding to help hire a student this summer.
Canada Student Jobs — the federal program that provides up to 100 per cent of hourly wages for summer students — is accepting applications until Jan. 20.
Students could begin employment as early as May 2017 under the program.
Brampton South MP Sonia Sidhu is encouraging eligible businesses and organizations to apply — noting small businesses will receive up to 50 per cent of the hourly wages paid to students, and not-for-profits will receive up to 100 per cent.
More information about Canada Summer Jobs, including eligibility criteria and an application guide, is available on the Service Canada website under the "Business" menu in the "Business grants and financing" section.
