All the paperwork is done and the keys are yours! What's next?
Firstly, get utilities set up: power, cable, etc. You will need to make an appointment to get your cable set up; whether its a new set up or a transfer. The earlier you get it organized the faster you will have these services. You don't want to be without lights or a microwave for too long!
Start by unpacking what you need first! You will be tired and want to get it all unpacked but be reasonable and start with the necessities first. (towels, bed linens, your favorite coffee mug)
Find a school for your children and get them registered.
Update your address for all the important stuff like your license, medicare, bills, etc.
Get your mail forwarded to your new address as soon as possible so you don't miss anything!
If you're moving to a new city, you may need a new health professional. Search around for a doctor, dentist, and a vet for your fur baby.
Meet the neighbors! Moving to a new location can be nerve-wracking so getting to know people in the neighborhood can make your feel more comfortable.
