What to heck is Feng Shui you ask????
Feng Shui is an Asian name for an ancient natural science practiced around the world. It is the study of the effects of energey or "chi", as it flows around and through objects, rooms, buildings, landscaping and people.
I have been interested in Feng Shui for a number of years and have read a few books on the subject. Recently I attended a course entitled advanced Feng Shui for Real Estate. This course was instructed by Sharon Hay who is the director and founder of Canadian Schools of Feng Shui. I found this course extremely interested and have just enrolled in another course to be given by Sharon in november.
Anyway, I thought I would pass along the Feng shui 'Tip of the Month that was sent out to me'.
With holidays fast approaching, it is a good time to clear out your home, both before and after guests arrive. When you are planning to have a number of guests entering your home, it is a good idea to smudge your home first. Smudging in many cultures, is a ritual for clearing negative energies in spaces of gatherings and helps to keep negativity from being brought in.
The three most used plant material for smudging are sage of all types, cedar and sweetgrass. The herbs are burned and the smoke is waved into the corners of each room in your house. It is best to think positive thoughts and well wishes for your family and guests as you walk through each room smudging with the smoke.
