Winter Real Estate Market

It's about mid-winter in St. John's and the real estate market appears to be revving up. The market was a little sluggish for the first month of the quarter, but is definitely showing signs of improvement in the first third of February.  Despite the cold weather and regular snow storms, sales appear to be fairly brisk, especially in the St. John's market.  Some of the neighbouring markets, such as Paradise and Conception Bay South have remained slow and steady. Recent activity, as is usually the case at this time of year is stimulated primarily by the decreased supply and to a lesser extent, the remaining low mortgage rates. So if you're thinking of selling your home in the near future, take advantage of the lower supply instead of competing in the surplus of homes usually found in the spring market.
