Are housing prices up in Red Deer?

Another great sign for the Red Deer Real Estate market is the following stats:

From January 1st to August 11th our sales have gone up

2012 we have had 1147 sales

2011 we had 1020

With the average price this year at $305,250 compared to $286,837 last year

With total sales this year at just over $350 million compared to $292 million last year.

What this tells me is that more is selling and prices have gone up a bit since the beginning of last year. The biggest thing I am seeing is more expensive houses are selling. Last year we saw a lot of homes sell in the $200-250K range where this year the big increase is in the $350-400K range and a slight increase in the $400-450K range.

The most surprising stat I found was between $600-800K. While last year we had 11 sell this year we have seen 24 sales.

The Red Deer market is strong, getting stronger with a lot to offer. Currently we have 314 single family homes available to go along with the 75 condos and 34 1/2 duplexes.

If you are thinking its time to buy a new home or even start looking let me know how I can help.
