Ken’s Ten – Ways to find a REALTOR®

Recently there have been companies that have come around looking to ‘hook’ you up with a realtor. For a fee or the realtor pays a fee for your information you can be hooked up with a realtor of their choice. While this dating service type of things works somewhat I am in disagreement with it. I think there are better ways to meet a realtor:

1. Ask friends who they used – ask what they liked and disliked about the experience. Would they use that realtor again?

2. Ask family who they used – ask what they liked and disliked about the experience. Would they use that realtor again?

3. Ask Co workers who they used – ask what they liked and disliked about the experience. Would they use that realtor again?

4. Realtor.ca – the national website shows listings in the neighbourhoods you like. Click on the realtors website and see if that person has any similarities to you.

5. Company websites – Google ‘Century 21′ ‘Red Deer’ and go through the list to find the right choice.

6. Open Houses – face to face meetings are always good to get a feel for the person.

7. Kiosks in malls – same as #6. These people are out looking to help.

8. Networking events – ask people you meet in the community who they recommend.

9. Charity events – does a realtor donate to local charities?

10. Moving – One of the most surprising things to people moving is that we know realtors in other communities.  I have helped people that moved to other locations like Edmonton, Calgary and a few places in British Columbia. I can help you find a great fit for your new town.

All of these are free to you. Let me know how I can help.
