Still A Buyers Market In Red Deer

We are still in a buyers market but the real estate market has definitely been picking up since the slowdown of the third quarter of 2008 and the slow start we had to this year. We are starting to see more realty signs on most streets. Most of the winter we were carrying an average of 550-560 listings but now in the second week of March we are up to 592. This covers everything from homes to condos to trailers. Sellers are starting to come out because home sales are picking up. Our sales numbers for the past few weeks are climbing and so are our listings. Our sales are still below our listings which means more homes are coming on the market than coming off. Sign it's a buyers market it that the inventory is going up and interest rates are dropping. So in my opinion we are still in a buyers market since we have more houses coming on the market than leaving. It's a great market to be in. Buyers have choice and the lowest interest rates in 20 years and sellers still sell, if they are priced right.
