The Thames Valley District School Board is one of the largest public school boards in Ontario, serving an area that stretches more than 200 kilometres – from Rodney to Tavistock and Glencoe to Norwich – across more than 7,000 square kilometres.
TVDSB came into being on January 1, 1998, with the amalgamation of the Elgin County Board of Education, the Board of Education for the City of London, Middlesex County Board of Education and Oxford County Board of Education. As a public education provider, we offer a full range of programs and services to learners across Thames Valley. We have 162 schools serving approximately 74,279 elementary and secondary school students (as of Oct. 31, 2013). Our district covers urban, suburban and rural communities.
Overseeing our Board are 15 trustees – six elected to represent London, two each for the counties of Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford, one First Nations representative and two non-voting student trustees.
he objective of the London District Catholic School Board is to develop in our students a love of God, people and self, an appreciation of prayer and a moral foundation to assist them as they journey through life. Catholic schools provide a complete academic program in an environment that integrates learning, religious instruction, Gospel values, and spiritual formation into all aspects of the curriculum. The schools have strong links to parishes.
The administrative, teaching and support staff are dedicated to teaching learners in a student-centered educational community. This philosophy nurtures values, skills and the ability to learn based on each student’s potential and is directly linked to well defined and measurable outcomes.
