The real estate community is active in fundraising in various areas. The Every REALTOR® campaign continues to be a huge success, raising $822,000 for shelters and charities in 2016. Through this initiative, participating boards collect $1 a month per member, with funds going to the Foundation for grants to charities. Every dollar counts, and that’s why even local events and small donations make a difference. In 2016, the “Jam with a Past President”, a musical event led by former OREA President Brian Walker at the OREA Political Affairs Conference, raised $7,600. This money also comes from fundraising activities at various real estate boards. All of these events raise funds for the shelters and shelter-related causes supported by the Foundation and are a testament to the time and generosity of Ontario REALTORS®.
