FOLLOW THE FARM - February 2015

When engaging a Real Estate agent to list your home/property you discuss a great many things. From the particulars - to selling strategy. What sometimes gets overlooked is the photo's that help "SELL" your home, farm, acreage, recreational or commercial property.

Some agents hire professionals and others do their own pictures. If you do your own and lack an artistic eye a local camera course can be beneficial. Obviously a good camera is a must. You can show a potential client a few photos from an already existing listing so that they can see the quality of photos that will be used in theirs.

When it comes to actually taking the photographs you need you should always consider the perspective, the balance and the focus. You may have to try several adjustments on the camera to compensate for the light from lamps or daylight through the windows. When picturing the outside, clouds or sunshine causes the same issues. Snow glare or shaded grass areas changes the light as well.

If you are "staging" the room for the shot remember to handle peoples belongings with care and respect, put things back where they originated from if you have had to move something. Better yet if the homeowner is there get them to move the required items. A good photo shoot will take time.

With today's technology there isn't really any excuse for a bad or unflattering picture. The client has hired you to represent their property to the best of your ability.
