Are you a newcomer youth to Canada looking to improve your English and French language skills? If so, the Immigrant Youth Centre is offering a variety of programs this summer to help you with developing these key communication tools.
English Camp will run from July 8 to July 26, from 9am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday. The camp is suitable for different English skill levels. A language assessment will be performed to determine the registrant’s language skill level.
Another course, designed to help current ESL Level E or ENG students to transition to regular high school English transition courses, will be offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from July 3to July 19, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Beginner French classes will run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm every Saturday from July 6 to July 27, for a total of four classes.
All classes are free of charge to newcomer youths aged 13 to 24 and will be held at the Immigrant Youth Centre located at 5284 Highway 7 East, Unit 2 (northeast corner of McCowan and Highway 7 E.) Registration is required. Please call Shirley Yip at 905-294-8868.
