If you are a bit of an environmentalist or simply want to do your part to help out the environment, come to the Tree Tenders Volunteer Training Program. This is a course designed for individuals who simply wish to gain tree-related knowledge and skills on how to properly care for them. There will be classes on topics ranging from tree-related by-laws and policies to types of tree stresses, as well as arboriculture training, including a combination of indoor and outdoor instructions. On the final day, there will be interactive activities and a group tree planting session that will allow you to apply your knowledge. This is a multi-day course that will be offered on September 22 (10am-3:45pm), 25 (6:30-9pm) and 29 (10am-3:45pm) at the Rouge River Community Center located at 120 Rouge Bank Drive (near Markham Road and 14th Avenue).
