Public libraries across Markham are hosting a program for new parents this spring. The program consists of 8 weekly story-time sessions to create educational and special moments between parents and their baby.
This program is ideally suited for newborns and babies who have not begun to walk, as the books selected are known to cultivate brain development in babies.
Angus Glen Library will hold the sessions from 1:30pm to 2pm every Monday from April 7th to June 2nd except Victoria Day. Sessions at Cornell Library will be every Thursday from 11am to 11:30am from April 8th to May 27th. Markham Village Library will hold the sessions from 2pm to 2:30pm every Monday from April 7th to June 2nd except the Victoria Day holiday. At Milliken Mills Community Library, sessions will be every Wednesday from 10am to 10:30am from April 9th to May 28th. Thornhill Community Centre Library’s sessions are every Thursday beginning April 10th until May 29th from 9:45am to 10:15am. Sessions at Unionville Library are every Wednesday from 10:30am to 11am and start April 9th and end May 28th.
There are only 15 babies with a parent or guardian per class. Pre-registration is highly suggested, 905-475-4731.
