Press Release for the City of Trail

Good News For Trail and surrounding areas:

"TRAIL, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (July 11, 2013) – The City of Trail has awarded the Victoria Street Corridor contract to Maglio Installations, a diverse full-service general contracting company based out of the West Kootenays. Maglio Installations will be responsible for curb, gutter and sidewalk removal/replacement, utility improvements, sidewalk and pedestrian-crossing enhancements, site furniture, and decorative landscape planter features from the Victoria Street Bridge up to Glover Road. The goal of this project is to enhance the streetscape along Victoria Street to establish a calming new image for Victoria Street, while strengthening the connections to downtown for local businesses, residents and visitors to the city.

“The entire concept of the Victoria Street Corridor improvements project has been in the works for quite some time and we are very eager to start construction,” says John Howes, the City’s Engineering Technician. “We look forward to working with the community and downtown business owners to make this concept a reality.”

The actual start date of construction along Victoria Street is projected to be later this month, but will be announced once the necessary Ministry permits are approved. The goal is to wrap up this phase of the project by the fall of 2013. This is the first stage of improvements to take place along Victoria Street, which is the City’s main traffic route. An additional component of the project, awarded to Hil-Tech Contracting of Trail, includes the supply and installation of gateway features at Bay, Cedar and Pine Avenue, also to be completed this year."

I'm looking forward to Trail's new down town!
