Renos and The Cottage Screened Porch

As we haven't reached our high of 8 degrees today, and the rain has been continuous all day, I decided to take a few minutes to take a quiet break.  On a day like today, why not read an article, or two from Cottage Life Magazine.  Thoughts of sun, water, fun, family and friends...and of course the odd reno or two.  I came across an article from the summer 2014 issue written by Justin & Colin.  For those who aren't familiar with them, they are a two Scottish Designers who also have a ...informative...yet comically entertaining show on Cottage Life TV    (Cabin Pressure)

The article that I came across is "Reno Advice that will Make Your Screened Porch Shine".  Every cottage in my opinion needs to have a screened porch, for so many reasons.  First of all the bugs!  Black-flies, Mosquitoes, Deer-flies, they're part of cottage life, but sometimes it's necessary to get away from them.  Screened porches are a perfect way to still have a taste of the outdoors, yet not be chased home by the bugs.  Of course screened porches aren't just for playing hide-and-seek with those pesky buzzing creatures, they're great for rainy days, lazy mornings with a coffee and a book, quiet evenings with a glass of wine and enjoying the loon calls and the serene sounds of the lake, or not so quiet and having fun entertaining friends and family.

However you use your screened-in porch at your cottage, it's a great feature to have.  A must have!  If you don't have one yet, talk to me, let's find you a contractor.....Of course if you don't have a cottage yet, you really need to talk with me!

If you need a quick 'Cottage Life' break today too, here is the link to the article.  Enjoy!
