Argenta was my first home when I moved to the Kootenays from Toronto, in the fall of 1991. There, I learned to appreciate the simple lifestyle that draws many people to this area, people with rich and interesting backgrounds. Today I live in Kaslo, where my husband and I are raising two sons, supported by businesses of our own - True North Timberframe and Design and my real estate. From 2002 to end of 2011 we owned and operated Kaslo Cable Ltd.
During my years here I have come to know and appreciate the north end of the lake and the many unique properties that exist, as well as those that are yet to be.
Realize your dreams or move on toward new ones, I can help you. As a representative of Century21 Mountainview Realty, servicing Kaslo and RDCK Area D, your real estate experience can be stress-free. Call Kul Nijjar: 877-930-4600, or my direct line: 250-505-4722.
Since we moved to Kaslo I have been involved with the Langham Cultural Centre, as Treasurer on the Executive Board of Directors in 1993. I was also involved with the Kaslo & Area Arena Association as Treasurer from 2010-2012. This position allowed self satisfaction when you see the users enjoying a recreation facility such as the ice rink in a small town. As you can imagine, during the winter months the arena sure is a great place to hang out.
I have volunteered for SufferFest this past September during the 3rd annual race. What a great event, with such a variety of athletes as well as beginners trying out some of the events for the first time.
I graduated high school in Richmond Hill Ontario, and then went on to Seneca College in King City Ontario. During my college years I took hotel management. I have taken specialized courses in Hospitality Management.
In 2008 I decided to get my Real Estate License. I did this online, and then have taken courses each year to keep myself updated on the latest real estate services and requirements.

When I'm not working I enjoy learning more about gardening, and trying to get my garden to grow things that I enjoy looking at. I also enjoy trying new recipes to cook, especially international foods. I really enjoy relaxing with my kids and going on new adventures with them.
Hotel Management was my first choice for a career. I spent 10 years at Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort as the Personnel Manager, having worked in all areas of the service industry at the Resort. My time there provided great experience in how to deliver excellent customer service, and to ensure the customers had a wonderful stress free experience.
Owning and operating our families businesses has taught me many lessons. Not only in managing small businesses, but also how to find out what people need and want and then to deliver what we promise.
Helping to run a small Timber Frame and Design company has also allowed me to learn about home construction as well as keeping up to speed on the changing regulations of the building industry and specifically what changes are brought about in the communities of Kaslo and RDCK Area D. Buying or selling a home sometimes requires hiring professionals to do upgrades, changes/renovations, landscaping, all sorts of odds and ends to help close the deal. As a REALTOR(r) in a small community it helps to know who to turn to when meeting my clients needs. Owning True North TimberFrame and Designs has allowed me to know who does what in our communities.
Having run a small cabletv company in a small village with an active community channel has provided opportunities for me to personally attend many Village council meetings as well as many other public functions/meetings. Many of the decisions and recommendations made at these meetings have a direct affect on our community. As a REALTOR(r) knowing where to go to find out information is a very important function. Being able to help clients be informed of what this area offers for seasonal and full-time residents and what changes are coming in the future makes it easier for people to decide whether this is the area for them.
My previous and current experiences in the Kootenays helps me to provide services as your REALTOR(r) with ease and honesty.
My interests vary, however keeping upto date with real estate market trends is very important to me.
I am continually taking courses through the Real Estate Council and Kootenay Real Estate Board to keep my knowledge based up to date.
