As home prices continue to skyrocket, many first time buyers are turning to Scarborough condos. There are a handful that present amazing value and affordability while still having the amenities of a big city. Condos in the Scarborough City Centre area have risen in terms of popularity over recent years. With easy access to the subway through the LRT system, highway 401 nearby, shopping, grocery, restaurants and entertainment all within walking distance. condos in the centre of Scarborough have become a popular choice for many.

There are a few condos in particular worth paying attention to. With such a high demand for condos, these are the ones we find very suitable for a first time buyer looking to buy in Scarborough.

Grangeway Condos

Built by Monarch in 2008 and 2012, the condos at 68 Grangeway Avenue and its neighbour 88 Grangeway are off the northeast corner of McCowan and Ellesmere. These are the only two condos in that particular street, making it not as condensed and traffic prone as the other condos in the Scarborough City Centre area.  68 Grangeway has utilities included in the maintenance fee, while 88 Grangeway has hydro billed separately. Both have extensive amenities that any condo dweller would enjoy.

Brian Harrison Way

Although these buildings are not new, the condos at Brian Harrison Way are located conveniently right next to Scarborough Town Centre. The Scarborough Centre RT station is literally a walk across the condo away. And if you ever need to go to the mall, you can just head outside and walk on over without the need to find parking space. For those working in the government office nearby, or business buildings nearby, this is a great option whether buying or renting.

Town Centre Court

A lot of condo buildings have been built on Town Centre Court and some say it might be a little bit congested during peak commuting hours, but these condos are newer and represent great value in the Scarborough City Centre area. Two builders, Monarch and Henderson, have recently erected condos but let's not forget 61 Town Centre Court built by Tridel years ago. It's tough to find listings at 61 Town Centre, otherwise known as Forest Vista. But listings for condos for sale at Town Centre Court's 50, 60 and 70, and Centro's 25 Town Centre and 180 Borough Drive are readily available.
