1st Annual Relay For Life in Prince Edward County
The Canadian Cancer Society's annual Relay For Life event is coming to Prince Edward County for the first time on June 11th. Held at the Picton Fairgrounds starting at 7pm and running until 7am the next morning, this will no doubt be a powerful event for all!
Having already raised over $21,000 we are well on our way towards a successful first year! Century 21 and friends will be participating in The County's first Relay For Life. We are very excited to be a part of such a wonderful event and are really looking forward to the big night. We are all participating in honour or in memory of loved ones and even have a few survivors on our team. If you are interested in pledging Team 21, please CLICK HERE. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in making a general donation to the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Prince Edward County, CLICK HERE.
If you haven't already registered or joined a team, it's not too late. CLICK HERE to register.
If you are a cancer survivor and would like to participate in the Survivor's Victory Lap, CLICK HERE. The Survivor's Victory Lap will kick off the evening as the first lap around the track. This provides an opportunity to share and celebrate stories of success, give hope and inspiration to those living with cancer as well as their families and to thank everyone who helped through their personal battles.
You can also purchase a Luminary Candle in honour or in memory of a loved one. These candles are placed in bags bearing the names of cancer survivors or those who lost the battle to cancer and lit during a twilight ceremony and remain around the track for the course of the evening to provide light and inspiration to participants. To purchase a Luminary Candle, CLICK HERE, visit Scotiabank in either Picton or Wellington or you can also purchase them from any participant of the Relay For Life event.
Volunteers are also needed for the event. If you have time during the evening/early morning of June 11/12, please CLICK HERE to see how you can help.
