Brandon

Manitoba

Brandon is Manitoba’s second-largest city with a population of 51,300. The city is found along the shores of the Assiniboine River and was incorporated in 1882. It has since become a centre of commerce and trade in the region. While a bulk of the economy in Brandon is focused on agriculture, other industries have started to become important to the city. These include manufacturing, food processing, education, healthcare, business services, and transportation.

The city is home to Brandon University, Assiniboine Community College, Manitoba Emergency Services College, and Robertson College. Additionally, the Canadian Forces Base Shilo is a short distance outside the city, which brings in a lot of business.
